The Arco Deustua is located 2 blocks from Plaza Mayor.  It’s built on stone and symbolizes the Heroes of the Battles of Junin and Ayacucho. Around the Arch, there are two “glorietas”, small-shaped squares with stone pillars.  From this place, you’ll have a panoramic view of the entire city and bay.

The Pino Park is a traditional Plaza, where you can also find the Temple of San Juan, where the Patroness of the city, the Virgin of Candelaria, is venerated and her festivity is celebrated the first week of February every year.

Lima Street is the main street in Puno and is for pedestrians.  On the floor you will find the different typical dances of Puno.  It’s surrounded with different shops around.

The Plaza de Armas was built over the old construction of Supay Wasi.

The Cathedral was started its building in the 17^th century and finished on 1757, about 100 years later.  It’s built in baroque style with Andean elements that give it a mestizo style.

Carlos Dreyer Museum is located in Plaza Mayor and is a colonial house built by Carlos Dreyer, from Germany.  You’ll find archaeological exhibits of the Pucara, Tiahuanaco and Inca cultures. Also, there are some paintings from renowned painters.  The most important attraction is the collection of the “Gold of Sillustani” which contains over 1,000 pieces, of which 501 are gold, weighing 3,782 kilos, all of them are Inca origin.

Yavari Naval Museum was built in 1861, it’s anchored in the bay of Puno.  In 1862 its 1833 pieces were shipped in England and transported to the port of Arica and then sent by train to Tacna.  The parts transported by mule were assembled and put into operation in 1870.

View Point Puma Uta is located in the area of Alta, north of the city. It has the figure of a Puma, as a monument.  You’ll be able to have an excellent panoramic view of the city and Lake Titicaca.
