Humantay Lake (Full-Day)

Humantay Lake is a turquoise-colored glacial lake, located in the village of Soraypampa, Vilcabamba area. This lake is a natural attraction, surrounded by giant mountains of the Andes and formed by melting glaciers. It only takes one day to visit and it’s an easy journey if you have previously acclimatized yourself in Cusco. You will walk up to the top of the mountain, which is at 4,180 meters above sea level, and see beautiful landscapes, crops of different products such as corn, avocado, squash and others that are produced in this valley.

Humantay Lake is considered a jewel of nature because of the turquoise color of its waters. This is due to the mineral found at the bottom of the lake. You’ll enjoy the impressive views of the mountains surrounding it.

Maras and Moray

This Tour takes about 5 hours. We will make a trip to the north of Cusco and visit Chincheros, Maras and Moray, which are part of the Sacred Valley.
The Archaeological Site of MORAY is very important and famous for its circular Terraces, used by the Incas as an agricultural experimental area to adapt its products to other climates.

The interesting town of MARAS is a small village famous for its Salt Mines with about 3,000 small wells where salt is extracted after a drying process. Today is known worldwide for its great taste and nutritional value. This element has been exploited since Inca times.

On our way to Maras and Moray, we will make a stop in Chincheros, a Quechua Village located 28 Km. from Cusco. It’s a small charming town with colonial-style buildings and was a major agricultural center during the Tahuantinsuyo. Chinchero is famous for its stone walls and traditional market.

Rainbow Mountain (Full-Day)

It’s also known as Vinicunca and it’s located in the Andes Mountains, about three hours from Cusco, with an altitude of 5,200 m. over sea level. It was discovered recently when the snow melted, showing the rainbow appearance with beautiful colors: turquoise, lavender, gold and others. Actually, is made up of 14 different colorful minerals that come up from the sediment of minerals throughout the area.

Sacred Valley is important for being one of the main agricultural centers of the Inca Empire. We’ll visit the PISAC Archaeological center, composed of platforms, impressive agricultural terraces all over the place, aqueducts, and domestic structures. Then, we’ll stop in the town of Pisac, famous for its crafts and traditional market. We’ll also visit OLLANTAYTAMBO ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE, considered an important strategic fortress used to control the whole Inca’s Sacred Valley. You will also see an amazing rock formation representing the Inca God Wiracocha. Another interesting place we will visit is the town of CHINCHERO and its colonial church. It is one of the oldest Roman Catholic churches in Peru and was built over the ruins of the palace of the Inca Túpac Yupanqui. Although it doesn’t look impressive from the outside, its interior is highly decorated with gilded Baroque altars and sculptures, walls covered with murals, a wooden painted ceiling and interesting frescoes on the front gate. We will include a visit to Andeneria and its market also.
